Sooooooo Blessed:)

The last couple of days have been so much fun and I was reminded just how blessed I am. I have so many amazing friends who definitely feel like family to me and I am so thankful that every single one of them is in my life. The fun began on Monday when a group of us got together for Chinese food and bowling to celebrate David Jay's birthday:) Just to let you all know I let DJ win because I didn't want to see him cry or get depressed on his birthday:) Then on Tuesday a small group of us took DJ out for Sushi:) Afterwards we all went back to DJ's and had some yummy cake that Janey, Jasmine, and I made:) If you want to hear our amazing voices go HERE and click on the video that DJ posted:)

I was also soooooo blessed to have Jasmine over for two days during this Birthday extravaganza:) Jasmine you are amazing and I enjoyed every minute that we spent together and I can't wait to see you in a week:) YAY!!! Thanks for going on that hike with me:) Wish you lived closer so we could go more often:) Love ya!!!!

Janey thanks for helping me with the cake, seriously if you weren't there it would have been a crumble cake:) hehe... My cup runneth over!!!!!

David Jay......... No, you ROCK:) So glad you were born, because our lives wouldn't be complete without you. Thanks for being such an amazing friend:)

I love you all,
Amy

P.S. Go here to see the cute slideshow that Janey put together:)

Worth the wait:)

Happy Sunday everyone:)

This week has been full of great conversations for me and I wanted to share with you a little on how I've been so encouraged and blessed this last week. For all you girls out there I'm sure you can all admit that talking about relationships is one of our key conversation topics. So on Wednesday I was having dinner with my really good friend Nicky and of course we started talking about relationships and how there's always going to be that annoying thing that the other person does in your mind. Of course your gonna get mad or frustrated but what it all boils down to is can you live with it. That's how you know he's the one. Even today at church the pastor mentioned that he definitely does things that are annoying, but his wife accepts him and loves him no matter what.

I then started thinking, wow there's a lot of things that I do that are so annoying that I annoy myself........... WOW!!!!!!!!! I don't have enough time or space to list them all:) LOL......

Then a couple of days ago I heard this song called "She's Everything" By Brad Paisley. It's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and I have it on repeat right now:) He mentions that his wife is a "fighter when she's mad, Now and then she's moody" (sound like someone I know, hmmmmm), but then he goes on how "she's the answer to his prayers, she's everything I need, every day that passes I only love her more, (and my favorite) she the one I'd lay down my whole life for".

Then to top it off I had another friend write me who just got married and whom I had the honor to be the photographer at her wedding:) I actually did'n't know Ronee before she hired me but I have gotten to know her since then and Ronee is amazing and I'm blessed to call her my friend:) I wrote her and asked how married life was going and she wrote me the sweetest letter and told me how she had to wait a long time to find the man of her dreams. Yes I'm sure there were times when she was frustrated but she said he was totally worth the wait. She ended her letter by saying don't get impatient and not to settle for less because the person that God has planned for me is going to love me inside and out. I was so encouraged and I hope I can encourage all you other single girls out there that he's worth the wait:)

I'm so blessed to know all these amazing couple who are married because I have learned so much from all of you. You all are definitely a role model and I thank you for sharing and being so open about your marriages:)

Love Amy

Ok it's 5:00 in the morning and I can't sleep. I've been lying in bed for the last hour or so trying to tell myself that I'm tired but really my mind is racing. I think it's because I didn't post yesterday:) LOL....... Or maybe it's because I told Janey that I would do Pilates two to three times a week for a month straight and I'm totally dreading it:) I already run, bike, and hike several times a week, but pilates is a whole different thing:) Painful doesn't even describe it, but hey they say it works:)

Ok, so it's time for another accountability post. Who wants to start working out three times a week for a month????????????? Missy???? DJ??????? Gary?????? Shy?????? Jasmine?????? Amber????? Nathan????? Katherine????? I would say Janey but she's already a rockstar!!!!!!!

We could post before and after pictures:) Looser buys dinner...... YAY!!!

So if you sent something important and I didn't respond it's because I didn't get it:)

Still in shock:)

Today was Eddie and Ronee's wedding and they were beyond amazing!!!!! They were so nice and welcoming and it felt like I was shooting a family members wedding:) After the ceremony we headed for the beach to do the last of the bridal party shots. YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED!!!!!!!! As we were walking to the beach a suburban actually hit my arm. I'm still in shock. They were about 1/2 an inch from hitting my camera and from taking me out completely. They hit me soooo hard and they didn't even stop. Good news is I dented their mirror:) Ronee couldn't believe it and Janey ran to my side to make sure I was ok. In my my mind I had no other choice but to be ok because I had to finish my shoot and I needed to get a slideshow up:) hehe!!!! Just so you know I am fine:) My arm is a little sore but I'll get over it. Infact I'm supposed to go running with Janey tomorrow for five miles so we'll see how that goes:)

Here our a few images from today:) Congratulations Ronee and Eddie:) you guys are amazing!!!!!!!!

Love you guys!!!!!!!

oh ya, and Janey I had a blast shooting with you today. I don't know what I would do without you:) P.S. I hope we marry brothers:) LOL

I'll post a slideshow tomorrow:) But right now I am headed to bed:) night all!!!!

The promises you keep:)

Today I shot Tony and Anna's wedding and all I can say is that this couple was out of this world amazing, generous, kind, you name it. It seriously was one of my all time favorite weddings. The moment I saw Anna and Tony they were so kind and definitely made me feel included. They were so positive and never once did they get stressed. Instead they rolled with the punches and continued to thank me throughout the whole day. Even the bridal party was super outgoing and the group enjoyed taking pictures and just being playful:) What I really love about this couple is how they adore each other so. Everytime I clicked the shutter I could tell that they were madly in love and it was so refreshing to see:) It was so cute because as soon as Anna started walking down the isle, Tony started to cry. My eyes started tearing up right away and for a moment I thought I was going to loose it. Man I love my job:) hehe!!

Something that I will always remember is what the Pastor said to the both of them when talking about marriage, "it's not the promises you make, but the promises you keep that make a marriage last". Wow isn't that true.

Here are a few images from today:) Stay tuned for the slideshow tomorrow:)

Wow it was an amazing day:)

Ready to start this day:)

I'm about to shoot a wedding in little less then a hour and there are so many things that I'm excited about today and the wedding hasn't even started:)

Here's the list of things that I'm excited about:)

1. I love this couple and I can't wait to hang with them first of all

2. The church has no shade around it but guess what, it's an overcast day. yaaaaaa!!!!!

3. Jenn Santos is shooting with me and she super fun to have around.

4. Once it's all over and done with I get to come home and put the images that I used for their slideshow into a showit web slideshow. To top it off, all I have to do is upload the showit web folder onto my server and it will automatically replace my recent slideshow on me website. How exciting is that??????? I don't have to bug my webdesigner to constantly update my slideshows on my website because he made my site to where I can do it myself........ Wahooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! So stay tuned:)

Have a great day everyone:)

loves......

Coolest roommates EVER!!!!!

Yesterday it was Lisa's birthday and so we hit the town:) Actually it was so nice and relaxing because we went to this cute little Middle Eastern Restaurant that is tucked away in Santa Barbara. I definitely branched out and tried some crazy things, but overall it was really good. Later on we met some more frends at this cute little bar called Ephiphonies and I guess Kevin Costner is part owner.

I had such a blast hanging with my two roommates (Summer on the left and Lisa in the middle):) These girls are full of life and such a joy and delight to be around. We are all so different which is a really good thing. Lisa is the life of the party and is always laughing and having a good time, she is a singer as well. Go to her website and check out her music

Matted Verses Flushmount???

What would you say is your favorite type of album??? Normally I would say that the flushmount is my favorite, but after seeing the matted Queensberry album, I'm in love:) However, when I get married I want one of each. Yep, I'm a little high maintenance when it comes to albums. LOL

So this week I thought I would try the leathercraftsmen flushmount, since I've heard so many amazing things about their albums. Excited to see how this album turns out:)

What's your favorite type of album, and which one is in higher demand????

25 years:) WOW!!!!

Yesterday my parents came up to Santa Barbara to celebrate their 25th anniversary. Wow, I can't believe they have been married that long. Now a days I feel like 25 years is unheard of so when I see them still madly in love after all these years it warms my heart:) They have been a role model and set an amazing example on how a marriage is supposed to be, and I'm so thankful for that.

They drove up in the early afternoon and I took them to the Bacara for an early lunch. It was so nice, and quiet and because my parents hate crowds Bacara was the perfect setting. We laughed, hung out and just relaxed, which is exactly what we needed. Later my mom said that she couldn't imagine doing anything else and that hanging with me and my dad was the perfect anniversary. However it would have been even more perfect if my sister Mandy was there, but she's in Idaho golfing up a storm:) Oh well, next year:)

Photographers + Fiesta = craziness:)

On Wednesday Tim, Cheryl, and I met our friend Justin Lyon for dinner in SB. He brought his friend Matt Sloan (who we absolutely love). We went to my favorite Chinese restaurant and had the best time talking and just hanging out. One of my favorite topics was hearing how Justin met his wife Amelia. He seriously had the cutest pick up line. hmmmmmmmmm, should I say it????? Can I Justin?????

Well anyways I'll let Justin say it in the comment box, or the next time you see him definitely ask him. It's was sooo cute, and I hope someone uses that pick up line on me someday:) LOL

So I had no idea that it was Fiesta this week, and if I had known I would have left SB because it gets sooo crazy during this time. Justin and Matt had no idea what Fiesta was all about but when we told them they got super excited and wanted to throw confetti eggs at everyone. I got some videos of them, it's hilarious. Here's one of Justin creaming our waiter, it was hilarious:) Later on we took them down town and I think they creamed 15 to 20 people:) I am still laughing:)

Check out amynave.com BABY!!!!!!!

I can't believe it:) My new website is up, and I am lost for words:) You might be thinking, "Amy lost for words, is that possible:)" Well yes it is:) I have had one of the craziest weeks with so much going on that I can truthfully say that it's been a hard week. But I see everything starting to improve, and it all started today when my friend Brett from Brett Austin Media launched my website. We started talking about my site at WPPI (where the picture is from) and I knew from that moment on that I wanted him to design it. He did such an amazing job and I have been so blessed to be able to work with him. He was so patient with me, which was exactly what I needed. Even at the end when I kept changing my mind he never once became frustrated with me, but instead he listened, gave his opinion, and then gave it his all to make sure that I was happy with the end result. I am blown away.......yaaaaaa!!!!! Even when I was sitting by him today as we were launching my site, I couldn't even begin to express my excitement and gratitude for all his hard work that he has put into it.

Thank you Brett, I can't even begin to say just how much I love my website. Thankyou for going above and beyond in everything that you did.
